Explain your backstory (4-5 SENTENCES, 3 MINIMUM PARAGRAPHS):
Kar'Rek'Toh was a lonely Vortigaunt when the Combine invaded his homeworld. Him and his family of other vortigaunts, Roh'Lek'Tah and Gla'Va'Koh escaped to Xen during Black Mesa. The combine killed his whole family, while he was escaping, he used the rifts to escape. Kar'Rek'Toh was directed to Earth and came out in City Seventeen.
When Kar'Rek'Toh came out of the rifts into Earth, he came at an unlucky time during his landing. He came out during the Seven Hour War. He didn't know what was going on in Earth, but he ran. He ran all he could until the Combine found him. He was chained up and took to the Nexus in City Seventeen. He worked and worked until his chains wore him too much.
During Kar'Rek'Toh's tasks of cleaning every inch of the city with his other Vortigaunt Slaves, an Oh-Four was patrolling with a few other Oh-Fives. The Oh-Four told the other Units to move along and carry on patrolling. Kar'Rek'Toh stood up as straight as he could even due to his aching muscles from working constantly. The Oh-Four and Kar'Rek'Toh were eventually becoming knowing to each other, the Oh-Four would patrol where he was cleaning each week.
Eventually, after a few more weeks, the Oh-Four got rid of Kar'Rek'Toh's chains and he was free! He saw a bunch of citizens walking around after the Unit's had left the area. Kar'Rek'Toh decided to follow the citizens and they went into the slums of City Seventeen. Here he became stronger than he was ever before after constant work. However, he still missed his family, always remembering what the Combine did to his family. He would never forget what them ruthless monstrosities did to his family.
After a few months of hiding in the slums with the anti-citizens he followed, there was a sweep of the slums to get rid of all the current resistance members. This was a critical moment for Kar'Rek'Toh and his group, he had to escape, or fight for his kind and his what he could call 'friends.' Squads and squads of Combine entered into the slums, they were overwhelming him and his group. They had to escape. They had to escape somehow.
They took the dirty way out - through the sewage pipes. After a few hours of hiding, one of the humans grew ill of being near too much bacteria and all the sewage. They had to leave him to escape properly, they came out of a sewage pipe into a cornered off part of the city. They finally found a way out, they found a way to somewhere they've never seen before.
Kar'Rek'Toh escaped to the Outlands eventually through hiding in dark corners and moving quickly. After constant hours of moving through the Outlands, using up many resources and time, they arrived somewhere. They arrived at City Fourty-Five, Bucharest, Romania. Here, they were captured again. His human friends were captured and executed. He was put into labour, again.
Kar'Rek'Toh was then deported to City Eighteen due to work reasons for the Combine. They had no more work for him so they decided to deport him off rather than execute him. In City Eighteen, he is constantly working like normal. He hopes that one day, in the future, he will be released from his chains again. Until then, he works under the combine.
